"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced."
James Baldwin
We can all face difficulties in our lives and sometimes it’s helpful to talk things through in a safe, warm and accepting environment. Psychotherapy offers a space to freely express your thoughts, feelings and vulnerabilities in confidence and without judgement.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, relationship issues, life transitions or other challenges, we can work together to gain insight into the difficulties you are facing and your responses to them. Insight can facilitate change.
When we are stuck in the past it robs us of the richness of the present moment and limits who we can be. Together we can move towards healing and self discovery and explore the issues that are preventing you from living a more free and fulfilling life.
I know it can be difficult to reach out, but I welcome the opportunity to discuss with you the support you are looking for. Please feel free to call or email me for an initial conversation.
Research shows that one of the most important factors that contributes to positive therapy outcomes is the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. I believe that the foundation of therapeutic work is about being fully present, responsive and alive to what is unfolding in you, the client.
If you are interested in working together we would meet for an initial session to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy and to give you a sense of what it is like to work with me.
From there we would arrange weekly 60-minutes sessions, usually at the same time each week. I offer long-term and short-term therapy – the duration depends very much on the individual – and we would have regular reviews of our work together.
I’m based in Angel, Islington and Stoke Newington and am available to meet for sessions in person (this is preferable), and also offer sessions by Zoom.
I am a psychotherapist in training with the Karuna institute. I practice Core Process Psychotherapy which is a mindful and contemplative approach to psychotherapy combining Eastern philosophy and Western psychology. I have regular supervision with an experienced psychotherapy supervisor, am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and work within its code of practice.
My previous career was in the arts and charity sectors. Over the years my meditation practice and engagement with Buddhist teachings has helped me to develop my awareness, find more joy and to connect with the deeper meaning of life. Practicing as a psychotherapist is an expression of my values and approach to life.
I’m based in Angel, Islington and Stoke Newington. I practice at the following locations:
